December Happenings: Health Issues and TV Crews

So, I decided to actually post something on here and I figured, why not write up some of the stuff that's been going on this month.
Or at least, so far. I can't believe it's only the 9th, urgh.

We started off December strong by having the worst IBS flare-up I've had in forever, which is just great. I traced it back to the cafeteria food at work, which has been not very IBS friendly lately. Just legumes and onions day in, day out. But since I'm technically still in my vocational rehabilitation process after a number of health problems sprouted up last year, which is a story for another time. So all that is to say that while I'm still in vocational rehab, work really really expects me to eat in the cafeteria every day because they want me to socialize and be part of the team again. Which is stupid to begin with, but whatever.

It's going to be fun to go back to work next week and have to explain that no, I can't eat here, no matter how much good you think it'll do. Otherwise I'll be out sick for weeks again, and nobody wants that. Least of all me.

Another great day was when I realized I should probably actually see a doctor for my stomach problems and the waiting time was, I kid you not, three hours. The doctor I went to was having IT troubles that day and look, I get it. I try to be a nice, understanding patient whenever I have to go there so my doctor hopefully takes all of my complaints seriously and I don't get on their shit list. But three hours is just slightly too much. Just a little. Especially since I felt like I was about to have a chestburster pop out of my guts the entire time I had to wait.

But on a more positive note, when I got home on Friday last week, I was surprised to see how many cars were parked in my street. Turns out the small town I live in was going to appear on local tv because of some sort of town anniversary. I got home just in time to make it to the closing shot where (almost) the entire town was waving up at a drone. I couldn't even make myself out in the shot when it aired on the news, but that suits me just fine because I usually hate being filmed. I just couldn't escape the allure of being on the local news.

So here's to hoping that this week I'll get back into the groove of things and that life will be a little less chaotic before the yearly holiday hecticness starts. Maybe I'll even manage to finish writing the Deadpool & Wolverine fic I'm currently working on before the end of the year like I promised Hannah.
